HOMEPORT
Wherever we are, we are drawn home. Home is where our personal journey begins.

This exhibition consists of the photos which were taken in modern Vladivostok. Is a city that is Russia’s gateway to the Pacific Ocean, a crossroads of cultures and destinies. In the period from 2012 to 2024, the best photographers (professionals and amateurs) searched, observed and captured the images that make up the portrait of this multifaceted city.

And this visual diary of Vladivostok finds a berth here in Phuket. Both Vladivostok and Phuket, port cities facing the ocean, live in the same rhythm of the tides and breathe the same salty wind. Our cities are magnets for travelers, seekers and dreamers. Many of those behind these shots, and many of those who are currently in Phuket, are part of a large community for which the words "home" and "path" are inseparable.

The Vladivostok Port of Registry exhibition is an invitation to look into one of the many homes of humanity. To see its diversity, feel its pulse, and perhaps find something familiar and familiar in it — something that will remind you, the audience of the exhibition, of your own home port, wherever it may be.

And we, as good neighbors, say to you — Welcome to Vladivostok!

Navy Day Naval Parade by Andrey Yefimkin
In Vladivostok, Navy Day is one of the most solemn and beloved holidays. The photo shows sailors in snow—white uniforms lined up, signal flags waving above the deck, and a warship against the background of a calm sea. All this is a symbol of naval glory, discipline and pride in the navy.

The holiday traditionally takes place on the last Sunday of July: ships of the Pacific Fleet line up in the Golden Horn Bay, parades, water shows and concerts take place on the embankment. In the evening, the city gathers for a fireworks display, ending the day filled with patriotism and respect for maritime traditions.
They've moved out by Vyacheslav Tuktamyshev
Vladivostok in winter is shrouded in silence: against the backdrop of the majestic moonrise, the guests of the city slowly walk across the ice of the frozen sea. The city’s port with cranes and ships seemed to freeze in anticipation of spring, and the icy surface turns into a spacious embankment where nature, industry and human curiosity meet.
The Ballerina and the Golden Horn by Alexander Filkin
This black-and-white photo shows a poetic moment captured on the roof of one of Vladivostok’s buildings. The ballerina floats in the air against the backdrop of the urban landscape and the bay, like the embodiment of grace and strength. Her movement is precise, airy, filled with drama, and the fluttering fabric in her hands adds dynamics and lightness to the frame.

In Vladivostok, ballet has become not only a stage art, but also an inspiration for photographers. Thanks to the branch of the Mariinsky Theatre, the city hosts the stars of the world ballet, and ballet photography here has become an independent field — a combination of urbanism, nature and dance. This photo is just one of those: where art goes beyond the stage and becomes a part of the urban soul.
The Night watchmen of Fort Pospelova by Ilya Paliyenko
The night magic of Fort Pospelova: star trails in the sky, twinkling lights of fireflies and ancient stone walls covered with moss create an atmosphere of fabulous peace. Vladivostok Fortress is a unique monument of the fortification of the XIX century, preserving the history of the defense of the Far Eastern borders of Russia.
A wonderful tree stump has arrived by Valery Chekalov
The wild coast of Vladivostok — cliffs, whitewashed driftwood and fog creeping along the green slopes. Here, in the big city, nature remains pristine and free. Vladivostok surprises with contrasts: the noise of the metropolis juxtaposes with the silence of the seascapes, where every stone and cloud is part of a living, untouched beauty.
Postcard view — from Vladivostok with love! by Matvey Nosarev
In the foreground of the photo is the Golden Bridge, elegantly spanning the Golden Horn Bay. Its graceful lines and light construction seem to float above the water, connecting the bustling center of Vladivostok with its remote areas. Russian Russian Bridge stands in the distance, on the horizon, a grandiose engineering structure crossing the Bosphorus Strait East and leading to the island of Russky. The sunset sky paints the scene in soft tones, emphasizing the harmony between architecture and nature.

Vladivostok’s bridges are not just transport arteries, but symbols of the city, its aspirations for openness and development. Their unique design features have made them the hallmark of the region, recognizable all over the world. In this photo, they appear as gates through which the city meets the sea, the sun and the future, while preserving its unique Far Eastern soul.
